Building a streetwear and footwear brand from concept to factory floor requires more than design — it requires direct manufacturing relationships, tech pack precision, and the ability to walk a factory floor and have informed conversations with suppliers in two languages and three time zones. KIY needed someone who could lead the entire pipeline.

Beyond design direction, the role spans the full production stack: footwear design with detailed tech packs translated for Portuguese factories; apparel design (one shirt and one pant program annually) coordinated with Chinese manufacturers; multiple in-person factory visits to both Portugal and China to maintain quality and direct relationships; and ongoing brand strategy that ties production decisions back to identity. The relationships built over years are the actual moat.
